What are consequences if we let pollution get out of control?
Studies show that we breathe approximately 20,000 liters of air each day. The more the air is polluted, the more harmful toxins you breathe in which could cause lung diseases, and people already with lung diseases could have a flare up (such as asthmatics could have an asthma attack). If we were to let water pollution get out of hand, it would be a terrible havoc among all americans. Little safe and sanitized water could cause dehydration, kidney problems, a cholera epidemic could break out, and malaria. Uncontrollable land pollution could result in more landfills being developed. We use 30 billion foam/plastic cups, 220 million tires, and 1.8 billion disposable diapers each year which all end up going to a landfill when their use is over. Studies show that we throw away enough trash every day to fill approximately 63,000 garbage trucks and 80% of that garbage could have been recycled, but it wasn’t.
